Hello everyone! I’m Aarav, and I’m a Grade 11 student studying at the Canadian International School (CIS). This conference will be my 14th. In this conference, we are OPEC+, considering issues pertaining to perhaps the most heavily contested and controversial resource today: oil. Considering the importance of these issues, I have no doubt the debate will be passionate, sharp and well thought out. Hi everyone, my name is Ren Yi and it is my pleasure to serve as your Deputy Chair of OPEC+, as a student from Dulwich College Singapore. This will be my 10th conference and my 3rd conference at Tanglin, where I previously served as an Advocate in the ICJ. As someone passionate about Global Affairs and Geopolitics, few committees are more fascinating than this organization, where we will discuss "stabilizing supply chains and [the] price of global oil markets”. In our present world, few issues are as contentious or pressing, requiring delegates to formulate multifaceted and well-thought-out answers and ultimately — resolutions. I encourage delegates to explore OPEC’s founding principles, history and above all the geopolitics of the present day, to better foster dialogue and constructive debate at this conference. With that, I look forward to creating new learning experiences and memories with everyone in November.
